ICELAND ON ICELAND
While traveling through Iceland in 2017 I had my GoPro suctioned to the passenger side window of the car while driving through the glacial washout zones in southern Iceland. That video footage captured how the movement through that vast flat landscape was forever unchanging. The sense that this place exists as an uncaring and dispassionate individual. It has no care in regards to humanity. There is nothing that changes in this place that can truly be perceived except the light and the seasons.
Created using cutaways in layered videos that were triangular in shape to reference the idea of what a mountain is. The video is an illustration how, in this landscape, I felt that the mountains at the horizon were simultaneously infinite and impossible to touch but we right next to me at the same time.
